The adult female and first instar of Aclerda smithii, n. sp., are described and illustrated from specimens collected from Sporobolus sp. in Tattnall Co., GA. The new species is most closely aligned with Aclerda obscura (Parrot) but can be differentiated by differences in the antennae and in body shape. A revised key is provided to distinguish it from closely related species.
